Barnyard is a Nickelodeon franchise that is originally started as an animated feature film created in 2006 by the co-creator of Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius franchise, Steve Oedekerk. The franchise tells the story of Otis, a carefree Holstein cow who learns the value of responsibility when he becomes the leader of a group of farmyard animals after his father's death.

This is way before the series' origin is mostly based on the film. In 2000, The unaired pilot for the 2006 film and the 2007 tv show, has been lost until founded sometime ago.

The series' origin is mostly based on the film before it spawned into it's own two videogames and spin-off tv series of the same name. After the films release the film idea was on the cover of Nickelodeon Magazine in 2007.

Back at the Barnyard (2007-2011)[]

On September 29, 2007, a CGI animated television series based on the film and titled Back at the Barnyard premiered on Nickelodeon. Chris Hardwick replaced Kevin James in the role of Otis, and Leigh-Allyn Baker voiced new character Abby, who replaced Daisy.[1] The series ran for two seasons, and ended on November 12, 2011.

Barnyard: The Videogame[]

A video game based on the film was produced by THQ and Blue Tongue Entertainment. It is an adventure game in which the player names their own male or female cow and walk around the barnyard and play mini-games, pull pranks on humans, and ride bikes, plus party hard. The game was released for PlayStation 2, Nintendo GameCube, Wii, PC, Game Boy Advance, and Nintendo DS.

Back at the Barnyard: Slop Bucket Games[]

Back at the Barnyard: Slop Bucket Games (released PAL regions under the name Back at the Barnyard: Cowlympics) is an action video game released by THQ in 2008 for the Nintendo DS. It received generally negative reviews from critics, receiving a 43.86% from GameRankings.[2]
