"Cheer Pressure" (originally titled "My Cheer Lady") is the thirty-first episode of the sixth season, and the two-hundred-seventy-seventh episode of The Loud House.

Plot[]

The cheerleaders challenge Lynn and her teammates to a "cheer off" when Lynn dismisses them as athletes.

Synopsis[]

In the middle school gymnasium, Lynn, Margo and Paula are practicing their basketball skills while the cheer squad is cheering them on. As they play, Coach Keck stops everything to make two announcements. The first thing she says is that their new mascot, an aggressive real-life kangaroo named Crikey, has just arrived. The second thing she announces is that their first basketball match is in Hazeltucky, and there are only three seats available in the bus, as the other seats are reserved for her and her personal masseuse Dennis (whom she constantly misnames as Hans), and that the other three go in the VIP section (really a cattle trailer attached to the back of the bus housing Crikey). Keck decides to have Lynn and her friends go in the back with Crikey, but Lynn retaliates by saying that it should go to the cheer squad, dismissing them as not being athletes. However, the cheer squad takes offense to this, saying that their stunts are harder to pull off than they think. Eventually Lynn and the cheer squad's leader, Jenna, decide to have a bet: they would hold a cheer-off to see who can perform the better cheer routine, and whoever loses has to ride in the back with Crikey for the entire season.

At the Loud House, Lynn and her friends attempt to do their own cheerleader stunts, but encounter certain struggles, like Lynn putting too much strength into flinging her friends in the air, to using one of Lucy's spells to make themselves float, to Margo being unable to maintain her balance in the pyramid form. Later, as the girls bemoan their struggles at the Burpin' Burger, Cheryl and Meryl arrive and ask them what's wrong, to which they say that they made a bet with the cheer squad that they can do better than them, but are struggling with their lessons. This makes Cheryl and Meryl state that they can help them, as they used to be co-captains of their middle school cheer squad.

Later, Cheryl and Meryl begin to train Lynn, Margo and Paula on how to perfect their cheerleading skills, using their "Three Pillars of Cheerleading".

  • Strength: In order to build up their strength, Cheryl and Meryl have the three girls catch and toss bags of horse manure into the air.
  • Spirit: In order to build up the spirit they emit, they have to give cheering mantras to shoppers at the grocery store, encouraging them to be at their best (or in Mr. Grouse's case, deciding what to buy when feeling indecisive).
  • Teamwork: In order to build up their teamwork, Cheryl and Meryl decide to fling Margo into the air, and Lynn and Paula, initially trying to catch Margo individually, decide to work together to catch her.

With their cheerleading skills perfected, Cheryl and Meryl tell the girls that they're ready for their competition tomorrow, but not before giving the girls their cheerleading outfits.

The next day, a crowd has gathered at the middle school gymnasium to watch the cheer-off. Lynn, Margo and Paula go first, and proceed to do a standard cheer routine that wins the crowd. However, when it's Jenna and her friends' turn, they perform a more extravagant routine that the crowd ends up loving more, thus declaring Jenna and her friends as the winners. Seeing how they lost, Lynn and her friends decide to be good sports and congratulate Jenna for winning, saying that the cheer squad is more important than they thought and that she and her friends deserve the bus seats. Jenna thanks Lynn for the compliment and states that, because they're all athletes, they should all get the bus seats, but Lynn remarks that Coach Keck wouldn't let that happen. Suddenly, Jenna reveals that she has an idea.

Sometime later, as the bus heads for Hazeltucky, it's revealed that Lynn, Jenna and all their friends are riding in the bus seats. Jenna reveals that her mother has connections with Principal Ramirez, and the latter was angry when she found out that Keck had hired a masseuse and bought a real kangaroo using the school's money. As punishment, she is forced to ride in the back with Crikey.
