Chuckie Finster is one of the main characters in the Rugrats franchise. He is Tommy's best friend and is voiced by Nancy Cartwright.
Overview[]
Charles Crandall Norbert "Chuckie" Finster, is the son of Charles "Chas" Finster, a widower and bureaucrat, and his late spouse, Melinda Finster, and is Tommy's best friend. Unlike Tommy, Chuckie is clumsy and timid; he rarely expresses any desire to go on one of the babies' adventures, instead listing all the reasons they should not go on one. Whenver Tommy and Dil's cousin Angelica tries to bully them, Chuckie unquestionably accepts her treatment and gives into any possible demands. Chuckie is 2 years old, making him the eldest of the babies, therefore he is the first of them to be toilet trained. He is Caucasian with curly red hair, purple-framed glasses, buckteeth, and freckles and wears a red and blue shirt with a picture of Saturn on it. In addition, he wears lime green and yellow shorts, yellow socks, and red sneakers with untied laces. In Rugrats in Paris: The Movie, Chuckie adds a Japanese stepmother, Kira Watanabe—who later adopts him—and a stepsister, Kimi. He also says his first word to the grown-ups when he stops Coco LaBouche from marrying his father. His character design was loosely based on Mark Mothersbaugh, the lead composer for the series.[1]
Appearance[]
Chuckie is a red-haired boy who wears purple glasses, a blue shirt with a yellow planet with red rings on it, green pants, and red shoes. His teeth are bucked. His hairstyle is quite messy.
Personality[]
Unlike all the other babies who are adventurous, Chuckie is timid and cautious, suggesting that the other babies shouldn't do things that'll cause them to get hurt or in trouble. He lives in constant fear of most things such as cats, germs, clowns, or losing his friends. Regardless of this, Chuckie has demonstrated several times that he can be brave when it comes to saving his friends, making him loyal. Chuckie being the wimp out the group makes him the easiest target for Angelica's schemes. Ironically, he is the oldest of the group. Sometimes, Chuckie has been shown to conquer some of his fears like in "Chuckie vs the slide" or "Chuckie vs the Potty".
In All Grown Up!, Chuckie is still timid but also a risk-taker to some extent and is the voice of reason.
