"Crown and Dirty" (originally titled "Pageant Mom" and "Crown and Out") is the thirty-fourth episode of the sixth season, and the two-hundred-eighth episode of The Loud House.
Plot[]
Lola tries to whip Mom into tip-top pageant condition for a Mother-Daughter pageant.
Synopsis[]
In the living room, Lincoln and Luna are trying to find something interesting to watch on TV. When they change to one channel featuring Dana Dufresne, Lola suddenly arrives, sensing Dana's voice. Dana announces that there's going to be an upcoming mother-daughter pageant. Lincoln and Luna encourage her to join with their mother, but Lola refuses, saying that Rita isn't exactly pageant material and is afraid that she'll ruin her pageant reputation. Lola also learns from Lincoln and Luna that Rita has been inserting herself into her kids' hobbies lately, making her tell them to make sure their mom doesn't hear about the pageant.
Sometime later, Lola is happy to know that Rita hasn't found out about the pageant and the entry window will close in a few minutes. Unfortunately, Rita learns through Leni about the pageant, and eagerly says that she would love to join Lola for the pageant. Realizing she can't get out of her situation after Leni offers to help them sign up, Lola proclaims that she must get her mother into top form if they want to win.
Later, Lola proceeds to train her mother on how to be a proper pageant contestant. First, she tries to help her perfect her pageant strut, but Rita is unable to keep up at the speed Lola instructs her follow. Second, Lola tries to teach Rita how to perfect a ribbon dance routine, but Rita's ribbon ends up getting snagged on a swing set. Because of these failures, Lola bemoans to her dolls that she has no chance of winning the pageant with Rita. At Mr. Sprinkles' "suggestion", Lola decides to "dump" Rita and find a replacement mother. In the dining room, as Rita suggests buying leopard-print jumpsuits for her and Lola, Lola arrives and cries over "learning" that the pageant was cancelled. Lola's performance is so convincing, Rita ends up falling for it.
Later, Lola is at the mall, trying to find someone who could be her replacement mom. First, she suggests Liam's Mee-Maw, but is turned off from her after seeing her trying to bathe Virginia in the fountain. Second, she suggests a roller-skating woman, but due to not looking where she's going, she ends up falling into a garbage bin. Lastly, she suggests Mrs. Johnson, since she's doing yoga, but due to her age, she can only hold her balance for so long. As Lola is about to leave, unable to find someone to be her replacement mom, Mrs. Bernardo suddenly arrives, and Lola sees that she's the perfect fit. Lola approaches her and asks if she would like to pretend to be her mom for an upcoming pageant, and Mrs. Bernardo agrees.
After a montage of Lola successfully training Mrs. Bernardo into becoming pageant girl material, the two arrive to the pageant hall, ready to dominate the competition. As Lola looks around, she discovers that none of the other girls are concerned in the slightest whether they win or not. As she questions why no one is being competitive, Lindsay Sweetwater and Claudette arrive to tell her that because it's a mother-daughter pageant, the most important thing is that they have fun with their moms. This makes Lola realize that she was wrong to "dump" her mother all for the sake of winning. Mrs. Bernardo, having overheard her plight, tells Lola that she should go to her house to make things right, to which Lola accepts. Running back to the Loud House, Lola confesses to Rita that she lied to her about the pageant being cancelled, and that she only told her that because she was afraid that she would be a hindrance to their chances of winning. Rita expresses disappointment that she was lied to, but acknowledges that she at least apologized. When Lola asks if she would still like to be in the pageant with her, Rita agrees if she could find something they could wear.
Back at the pageant, Lola and Rita decide to do a tap dance performance that they used to do back in Lola's preschool years. Despite the crowd finding it adorable, they end up not winning after all, but Lola doesn't mind, saying that having fun with her mother is all that matters. As Lola and Rita hug it out, Lola's moment of joy is cut short after Rita reveals that she bought them the leopard-print jumpsuits after all.

Trivia[]
- This is the first episode confirmed to have its title changed twice.
- Lincoln appears on the title card as a patch of dirt on the lower left portion of Lola's hair.
- This is the first episode where Lindsay Sweetwater speaks while onscreen visibly.
- She first spoke in "A Tattler's Tale", but only her eyes were visible (as she was hiding in a dark room), and her first full physical appearance was in "Fool Me Twice", but she didn't speak in that episode.
- This episode marks Agnes Johnson's first instance of speaking since "Stall Monitor".
- This is the second instance of Lola's tap-dancing abilities being shown, the first being the Listen Out Loud episode "Lola Loud's Pageant Tips".
- This episode reveals that she knew how to tap dance since she was in preschool.
- According to Luna, Rita has a habit of trying to get involved with her kids' hobbies. She once played the tambourine during one of the Moon Goats' performances, and made Lincoln include a two-hour long homework scene in his latest David Steele film.
- Rita playing the tambourine could possibly be a reference to her playing the tambourine during her family band's performance in "House Music".
- This episode reveals that Mee-Maw tends to bathe Virginia in the mall's fountain.
- This episode suggests that one of Lola's least-favorite patterns on clothes is leopard print.
- This was the last episode which premiered during the run of The Casagrandes to not premiere on the same day as a Casagrandes episode.
