Daddy's Home is a Paramount Pictures comedy film franchise created by Brian Burns. Ever since the film's release, "Daddy's Home" became a well-famed 2015 Paramount comedy films in the world, the sequel to Daddy's Home (2015), Daddy's Home 2 made a more edgier christmas special storyline than it's prequel. The franchise' film series is about a mild-mannered stepfather "Brad Whitaker" who vies for the attention of his wife's "Sara Whitaker" children when their biological father "Dusty Mayron" returns Until sequel's plot follows now-reformed fathers Brad and Dusty, now co-parenting Dusty's kids, who have to deal with their own fathers (Kurt Mayron and Don Whitaker) visiting for the holidays. The series itself shows a comedic rivalry between a good natured but inept step-father and the tough and perfect father. On November 5, 2014, it was confirmed that Will Ferrell and Mark Wahlberg would play the lead roles in the film. The Principal photography began on November 17, 2014, in New Orleans, Louisiana.

In April 2016, a sequel was announced with Will Ferrell and Mark Wahlberg reprising their characters. Anders and John Morris wrote the script and Anders directed. In January 2017, Paramount Pictures courted Mel Gibson and John Lithgow to star in the sequel. The two were later confirmed to star in the film. Linda Cardellini, Owen Vaccaro and Scarlett Estevez also reprise their roles. John Cena reprised his role as Roger. It was released on November 10, 2017.
In an interview, Mark Wahlberg mentioned that they would like to get Liam Neeson for the third installment of the film.
