"Driver's Dread" is the seventeenth episode of the sixth season, and the two-hundred-sixty-third episode of The Loud House.
Plot[]
Hoping to drive out to the outlets to meet Lori, Leni looks for alternative ways to get her driver's license.
Synopsis[]
Leni is video chatting with Lori, and they are excited to meet up this weekend at the outlet mall. When Leni mentions that Tanya will be coming along as well, she is "told" that she'll find someone to drive them there, making Lori comment that Leni should try to go for her license again. However, Leni refuses, saying she doesn't want what happened the last time she tried to occur again, and states that she'll try to find someone to driver her there.
Leni tries asking Rita and Lynn Sr. if they can driver her to the outlet mall on the weekend, but they both state they can't, as Lynn Sr. and the rest of the Doo Dads have been booked for a gig on that day, and Rita, completely spiked on caffeine, has to write a big article on coffee. After Rita suggests that she take the bus, Leni looks over a map of all the bus routes, and works out a complicated route that would result in her getting there in a day. Lincoln arrives and suggests that she should try to get her license again, and gives her a confidence boost by showing her a videos of Rutsy failing to do a cartwheel before finally succeeding. Now motivated, Leni agrees to try and get her license again.
Following afterwards, Leni tries to get help from different driving instructors, but with unsuccessful results.
- First, Leni is taught by Mr. Bolhofner. However, his methods of teaching Leni are akin to a drill sergeant, as he stresses out Leni by giving her instructions brashly while on a busy highway, like speeding the car to get in front a school bus so she can enter a freeway entrance and telling her to hit the gas pedal at its max so she can merge with the speedy traffic, resulting in her crashing the car into a tree.
- Second, Leni is taught by Mr. Grouse (with a few Lynn-sagnas, of course). After first, it goes smoothly when he instructs her how to properly hold the wheel and to be aware of her surroundings, but then, Mr. Grouse ends up falling asleep. Because of this, Leni ends up losing control on where she's supposed to go and ends up driving out of control around the Burpin' Burger parking lot, ending with her crashing into the drive-thru.
- Third, Leni is taught by Todd. Todd beings to instruct Leni on how to properly parallel park. However, due to Todd's robotic nature and Leni jumbling up her instructions, she ends up hitting the two cars she's trying to park between.
Back at the Loud House, Leni calls up Lori to inform her that the shopping trip is off, as she couldn't find anyone to give her a ride and that she once again failed to properly drive. When Leni says that she'll her during spring break, Lori reveals that she's not coming home for spring break, as she has a lot of studying to catch up on and says that they'll meet up in the summer, much to Leni's dismay. Suddenly, Lily arrives in a motorized stroller, with Lisa chasing after her. Lisa manages to catch Lily and reveals that the stroller is modified with a self-driving mechanism. Upon seeing this, Leni gets an idea.
Sometime later, the self-driving mechanism is installed in Vanzilla. At the DMV, Leni is met by her old driving instructor, and they begin the test. Upon activating the mechanism, the vehicle flawlessly performs all the required tasks like changing lanes, merging into traffic and parallel parking. Upon arriving back to the DMV, the instructor declares that Leni has finally passed her test and officially gives her her license. Now having her license, Leni proceeds to head to the outlets to meet up with Lori.
As Leni paints her toenails while she lets the mechanism drive her to the outlets, the mechanism suddenly goes haywire, causing Vanzilla to dangerously careen into the other lanes. Panicking, Leni quickly calls up Lisa, who is now chasing after Lily in a carriage with helicopter blades. Leni tells Lisa that the mechanism is going haywire, and Lisa tells her that, since she has a license now, the only thing she can do is to turn it off and drive herself. Upon hanging up, Leni, with no other choice, decides to put in the effort and tries to drive herself. Despite some very close calls, Leni finally gets the hang of driving and successfully reaches the outlets, where she happily reunites with Lori, who congratulates her for finally knowing how to drive.
