Flix is a premium television network owned by Showtime Networks which is a subsidiary of ViacomCBS Domestic Media Networks. Its programming consists solely of feature films from the 1970s to present day. On August 1, 1992, Flix was available as a "mini-pay" service. Prior to the channel's release, Telecommunications attempted to acquire Showtime Networks for 50% but failed.

In 2005 when CBS and Viacom split, CBS acquired Showtime Networks along with its sister channels and its owner.
