Kyle Broflovski is the deuteragonist of the South Park franchise. He is loosely based on Matt Stone who also provides the voice of him.
Appearance[]
Kyle is a young boy who wears an orange coat with a green collar and a Russian hat called an ushanka. He also wears green mittens. Like all the other boys, he rarely changes his clothing. Underneath his hair, he is revealed to have red hair inherited by his mother. Interestingly, his hairstyle is inspired by his creator. Strangely, he lacks a nose which is most of the child characters in South Park.
Personality[]
In older seasons, Kyle's character was very similar to Stan: both having strong morals, beliefs, and the most intelligent out of the group. However, in the mid-seasons of South Park the most notable trait of him is his increased anger, making him quite a hothead. This can especially be seen when is forced to question his beliefs or when Cartman does something incredibly stupid or diabolical. This often leads to arguments and physical fights. Furthermore, Kyle's anger is fueled by Cartman's teasing of his religion: Judaism. In many episodes, Cartman makes references to the Holocaust and Adolf Hitler. He also makes fun on how Kyle can't do certain activities because he's Jewish. All of this combined has become a running gag in the series.
While Kyle is the most intelligent out of the boys, he can be a bully sometimes, especially to his adopted brother Ike who is Canadian but this is seen more in older seasons. A game that Kyle used to love playing with Ike is called "Kick the Baby" which sends Ike flying into glass windows or on the ground. Despite this, Kyle became more mature and caring later on, he also shows a strong fraternal instinct towards his baby brother and truly loves him. In "Tegridy Farms" Kyle became upset with Ike and the other kindergartners after spotting them vaping. He is the most compassionate out of the boys too.
