Lana L. Loud is one of the main characters of The Loud House and one of the deuteragonists in the 2021 Netflix/Nickelodeon film The Loud House Movie.
Biography[]
Lana is the fourth youngest member of the Loud family. second oldest of the younger sisters, and eighth oldest, at 7 (6 prior to Season 5) years old. Her most notable traits are that she is Lola's twin sister, and her polar opposite in every way: While Lola is girly and prissy, Lana is a complete tomboy who loves anything dirty or messy, and is also quite fond of animals (especially "icky" ones like lizards and frogs). In addition, Lana is shown to be quite handy for her age, good at fixing things and eager to learn how to be better at it. Her most annoying habit is playing in the mud.
Lana appears to be at least somewhat religious, as the episode 'Fool's Paradise' at one point showed her saying prayers before going to bed, asking God to bless each and every one of her pets.
One of her heroic acts involved helping Lincoln in the episode "Along Came a Sister." She and Lola use jump rope to tie up the Exterminator who came to kill Frank the spider. Another example, also tying into her helping to save the life of an animal, was in the episode 'Frog Wild': Upon learning that Lincoln's science class is planning to kill and dissect dozens of frogs, she convinces him that this is wrong, and the two of them rescue the frogs.
Yet another example of heroism relating to Lana's love of animals occurs in the episode 'Scales of Justice.'
That entire episode centers around Lana's efforts to save a family of fish she cares for from losing their pond home to a construction/ development project. In "Tricked!", while Luna is singing the song You Got Tricked!, Lana and Lola combine to form a ghost rising from a corpse.
In "Time Trap!", Lana and her siblings altered history, causing their parents to decide not to have any kids in the future. As a result, Lana got deleted out of existence, although she returned when Lisa and Lily prevented this timeline alteration.
Early life[]
In Lana's early infancy, she found Charles, Cliff, and Walt, and cried until her parents agreed to keep them. When Lana was a year old, she developed a habit of decorating the house by throwing mud at it, which she still does. Her and Lola's second birthday had a sailor motif and at around age two, Lana tracked mud through the living room, prompting Lincoln and Clyde to play Ace Savvy and investigate who did it.
Her and Lola's third birthday party had a princess theme, their fourth birthday party had no theme, and their fifth birthday party had a medieval theme. These birthday parties were all, at least partially, planned by Lola, and Lana had no say in their planning until their seventh birthday party.
Personality[]
Lana is a tomboy, contrasting with her twin's girly personality. She loves to play in mud and enjoys getting her hands dirty. Her pleasures are found in filth of all kinds, and anything unhygienic, from playing with frogs to digging in the trash for chewed gum to doing business outdoors. Despite her tomboyishness and gross habits, she is a decent enough person and is loving towards her family. She also helps her family with more of the household jobs like unclogging the toilet and cleaning the animals out.
She is a junior expert plumber, as seen in "Sleuth or Consequences", where she uses an auger nicknamed "Big Bertha" to unclog the toilet (although she also aims to clog the toilet herself with her own excrement). Other example being in "Suite and Sour" where she fixed a shower. She also possesses extensive knowledge in automotive repair and machinery, and sometimes can be seen fixing Lola's car or even Vanzilla.
In "Snow Way Out", she is shown to be stingy when she refused to give the coupon for Flip, but later she got over it at the end.
Appearance[]
Lana is nearly identical in her physical appearance to Lola. She has blonde hair, with two downward pigtails tied down with red scrunchies, and is missing her front teeth, like her twin does.
She wears a red baseball cap backwards with a small square hole, white sneakers with blue stripes, and a murky green (blue in live action) t-shirt under dark blue overalls. Her original design used the same outfit, but with black Mary Janes. Her nightwear just consists of a murky green nightshirt. Her swimsuit is a blue one piece, which looks like overalls. Her snow attire consists of a yellow coat with matching pants, blue boots with matching gloves, completed with green earmuffs.
Lana's hat is a red baseball cap that she wears in every episode she appears in. Lana never wears her hat forwards, she always wears it backwards, and Lana is also shown to sleep with her hat on. The only time where Lana did something that involved her hat was when she wanted Lincoln to sign it in "The Loudest Yard".
