MTV (also known as Music Television), is an American television channel launched on August 1, 1981. It is one of the flagship properties of Viacom Media Networks, a division of Viacom. Throughout the years, MTV originally aired music videos but has toned done significantly in favor of reality television for teenagers and young adults. Despite being a success, MTV has influenced criticism.
