Marvel Studios is a production company for films based on Marvel's character library. In 2008, they started the Marvel Cinematic Universe, in which Paramount Pictures helped distribute most of the films in the lineup until 2013 with Iron Man 3. That same year, Disney purchased distribution rights (theatrical and home video).
