Nicktoons is a brand name owned by Viacom Media Networks through Nickelodeon that can refer to either an animated series created particularly for Nickelodeon or a television network that launched in 2002 dedicated to shows within the aforementioned brand. The brand was first used in 1991 because Nickelodeon debuted its first three animated series that year.
