Pop or Pop TV is a television network owned by ViacomCBS Domestic Media Networks. Its programming contains a mix of reality and scripted shows. In 1981, Pop was originally a barker channel service, a special type of channel that is composed of advertising and sales promotion. In 1998, United Video Satellite Group acquired Pop which was known as TV Guide Channel and was still a barker channel.
It wasn't until 2009 that Lionsgate acquired Pop and the programming changed as well. In 2013, CBS acquired 50% and was renamed TVGN. In 2015, TVGN was renamed to Pop. In 2019, ViacomCBS had full ownership of Pop as it was the year that the two companies would merge again.
