Royal Woods is a fictional city in Michigan that serves as the main setting of The Loud House. Located south of Saginaw Bay (according to a map seen in the episode "ARGGH! You for Real?"), it is based on the real-life Michigan city of Royal Oak, where the series' creator Chris Savino lived in his youth. It is home to approximately 20,000 residents.[1]
History[]
During the 1600s, Royal Woods was simply known as Woods.[2] This was where the Loud family's ancestors settled after they were (unknowingly) betrayed by their castle caretaker in Scotland, Aggie, when she banished them from their kingdom.
Sometime in the 400 years between the ancestors' arrival and the present (more specifically during the 19th century), Woods was renamed to Royal Woods, after an oak tree that lived there.
