September Gun (Also known in Central America in The Autumn of a Gunslinger) is a 1983 television film directed by Don Taylor. It is a US Western film starring Robert Preston, Patty Duke and Geoffrey Lewis. The tv film's plot is about Sister Dulcina hires an ageing gunfighter named Ben Sunday to help her transport a group of Apache children to Colorado, but when they arrive, the church that was supposed to house them has been turned into a saloon by the town's mayor, so they are forced to seek refuge in a barn.
Plot[]
Ben Sunday, a long-in-the-tooth gunfighter forms an uneasy alliance with a Catholic nun. The single-minded sister wants to erect a sanctuary for a group of Apache orphans. Ben Sunday picks an ideal spot, right in the center of town, the local saloon and "bawdy house".

The film, directed by Don Taylor from a screenplay by William W. Norton with characters originally created by Hal Goodman and Larry Klein , was produced by Bill Brademan and Edwin Self for Brademan Self Productions in association with Quinn Martin Productions and filmed in Old Tucson Arizona.
