Showtime Networks is an entertainment company owned by ViacomCBS Domestic Media Networks . It was founded in 1983. In the past, Showtime was owned by Viacom and Warner-Amex Satellite Entertainment. Showtime was known as Showtime/The Movie Channel back then. In 1984, Warner-Amex Satellite was sold to Warner Bros, making them the new owners of the company. In 1985, Warner Bros sold half of their stake to Viacom, making them have full ownership. In 1988, Showtime/The Movie Channel was named to Showtime Networks Inc.
