Stimpson "Stimpy" J. Cat is one of the two protagonists in The Ren and Stimpy Show. He was voiced by Billy West in the original series and by Eric Bauza in Ren & Stimpy Adult Party Cartoon.
Appearance[]
Stimpy is a Manx cat with red fur and white belly. Stimpy has a blue nose that is quite large, feet that resemble beans or boots, and 3 strains of hair on his head. Since Manx cats do not have tails, his buttocks are seen throughout the series.
Personality[]
Unlike the short-tempered and delusional Ren, Stimpy is very dumb, dim-witted, good-natured, naive, enthusiastic, optimistic, and slow to anger. He is also childlike: enjoying cartoons regardless of what Ren says. Stimpy's stupidity also makes him illiterate and has poor hand-writing.
He also has a high tolerance against pain, whenever Ren slaps or punches him he barely flinches or drools. He is also unaffected by Ren's verbal abuse as well by calling him an "eediot" However, in some episodes, he is scared of Ren's abuse. One clear example of this is in "Sven Hoek," where Ren's cousin comes to visit. Nevertheless, Stimpy considers Ren as a good friend and loves to take care of him such as in "Nurse Stimpy". He refers to Ren as "good pal" "buddy" "old friend etc. Stimpy is without his negative traits. He can be disrespectful, obnoxious, and oblivious.
Stimpy's cat-like behavior is shown more than Ren such as being hygienic, using the litter box as his bathroom, throwing up hairballs, and playing with cat toys.

Ren Hoek[]
Stimpy is Ren's best friend despite the physical and verbal abuse. He hardly ever gets mad at Ren and acts as the caretaker of him. Stimpy cooks the meals and cleans the house making Stimpy sort o fa mom figure. While Ren is mean-spirited, Ren at times shows that he cares for Stimpy.
Muddy Mudskipper[]
Muddy Mudskipper is Stimpy's icon. He loves watching his show and even guest-starred in one of his episodes which was a parody of Yogi Bear. While Muddy Mudskipper was glad to meet him, his personality is no different from Ren by calling him a "lousy bum" and "idiot."
Trivia[]
- Stimpy design is inspired by a Looney Tunes short, A Gruesome Twsome, both of the cats in the short had large noses and were stupid.
- Stimpy was Billy West's favorite character to voice as according to him
- Along with Ren, they are playable characters in Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl, acting as two characters in one. Much like CatDog.
- Additionally, this is their first appearance in a Nickelodeon fighting game.
