Teen Wolf is a live-action supernatural drama teen franchise created by Jeff Davis, Jeph Loeb and Matthew Weisman. The firsts of the franchise was the original two films Teen Wolf and Teen Wolf Too made and released by Atlantic Releasing Corporation but the company's Teen Wolf library was sold to Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer in 1989. Until 2011 The franchise took it to a new level after being greenlighted by MTV Entertainment Studios for the franchise's tv show revival Teen Wolf.
Franchise plot[]
The franchise starts when Scott Howard, a high school student whose ordinary life is changed when he discovers that he is a werewolf. Todd Howard, the cousin of Scott Howard, has recently been accepted into Hamilton University on a full athletic scholarship on the recommendation of Coach Bobby Finstock, who was Scott's basketball coach at Beacontown High. Finstock's hope is that Todd has the family genes to become a werewolf and turn his new struggling boxing team into championship contenders.

Animated series[]

An animated series adaptation aired on CBS for two seasons from 1986 to 1987. Townsend Coleman voiced the lead role of Scott Howard, with James Hampton reprising his role as Harold Howard. The series retained the basic premise and most of the characters from the film, but made changes to the story, such as Scott attempting to keep his werewolf identity secret from the general public. It also featured new characters, including Scott's grandparents (voiced by Stacy Keach Sr. and June Foray) and younger sister Lupe.
Live-action series[]

MTV greenlit a television series adaptation in 2009 that was developed by Jeff Davis. While also centered on a high school student who becomes a werewolf, the story was reimagined as a supernatural teen drama with elements of action and horror.[1] Tyler Posey portrayed the title character, whose name was changed to Scott McCall for the series. It aired for six seasons from 2011 to 2017.

A film based on the franchise is directed by Russell Mulcahy, The film itself is direct sequel of the 2011 tv series of the same name, which itself is loosely based on a |1985 film with a same name, and continues where the series had left off. The film itself is set to be released on the Paramount+ streaming platform on October 15, 2022.

A film spinoff based on the franchise was announced in the Works at Paramount+ Under a special deal with Jeff Davis sent by the Deadline Hollywood staff and then retrieved in September 24, 2021. Paramount+ themselves announces cast of "Wolf Pack" and Start of Series Production" (Press release) by CBS on June 20th, 2022.
