Terrytoons

Terrytoons was an animation studio and subsidiary of CBS Entertainment. The company produced cartoons from 1929 to 1972. Terrytoons was named after its founder, Paul Terry. The company created famous cartoon characters including Mighty Mouse, Deputy Dawg, Heckle and Jeckle, Sindey the Elephant, and many others. Terrytoons was also the start of Ralph Bakshi's career as an animation. However, throughout the years, the company has struggled with financial, budget issues, and treatment of staff.

The shorts were distributed by 20th Century Fox. In 1955, Terry sold his company to CBS and is owned through Paramount Pictures due to the merge between the two companies.
