The Loud House is a ViacomCBS media franchise that originally started as a 2013 two-minute short film that entered in the annual Nickelodeon Animated Shorts Program and then pitched by Nickelodeon on May 2, 2016 for a full 2016 television series created by animator and comic illustrator Chris Savino. The franchise revolves around the chaotic everyday life of an accident-prone boy named Lincoln Loud, who is the middle child and only son in a large family of 11 children. It is set in a fictional town in southeastern Michigan called Royal Woods which is based on Chris Savino's hometown of Royal Oak. But in The Casagrandes, Ronnie Anne Santiago shared the same problem as Lincoln sometimes after moving to The Great Lakes City with their extended family called the Casagrandes, Despite her endless family problems, Ronnie Anne meets new friends like Sid Chang, expresses more about her relatives, and explores the endless possibilities in Great Lakes City.
The two tv series' episodes are produced on Nickelodeon Animation Studios in Burbank, California, USA and animated by Jam Filled Entertainment in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. The series is based on Savino's own childhood growing up in a large family, and its animation is largely influenced by newspaper comic strips.
The series has received considerable media attention and nominations at both the 28th and the 29th GLAAD Media Awards for its inclusion of Howard and Harold McBride, two supporting characters who are an interracial gay married couple. Their introduction into the series was reported in the news as being historic and caused a ratings surge. In May 2017, the characters of Lincoln Loud and Clyde McBride were featured on the front cover of Variety as an example of diverse characters in children's television.
On May 7, 2019, the fifth season was greenlit consisting of 26 episodes. It premiered on September 11, 2020 with a one-hour-long special called "Schooled!".
On September 9, 2020, it was announced that The Loud House had been greenlit by Nickelodeon for a sixth season consisting of 26 episodes, which will premiere in 2021.
A feature film based on the series is also in development to be released on the streaming service Netflix in 2021 and on February 19, 2020, it was announced that a live-action film based on the series titled, The Loud House: A Very Loud Christmas, will premiere in late 2020.
A spin-off series titled The Casagrandes premiered on October 14, 2019. However, the Nickelodeon Group has officially announced A live-action series titled The Really Loud House will premiere in November 2022.

The Loud House (TV Series)[]
In the fictional town of Royal Woods, Michigan, Lincoln Loud is the only boy and middle child in a family of eleven children. He has ten sisters with distinctive personalities: bossy social eldest child Lori; ditzy fashionista Leni; musician Luna; comedian Luan; athletic Lynn; gloomy gothic Lucy; polar-opposite twins tomboy Lana and beauty pageant Lola; child genius Lisa, and baby Lily. Lincoln occasionally breaks the fourth wall to explain to viewers the chaotic conditions and sibling relationships of the household, and continually devises plans to make his life in the house better.
In the fifth season, the Loud siblings will age up a year and move up a grade with Lori going to college, Lincoln going to middle school, and Lily going to preschool. Leni struggles to become charge of the Loud siblings as the new oldest sister in the Loud House.
The Casagrandes[]
Having moved to Great Lakes City back in The Loud House episode "The Loudest Mission: Relative Chaos", Ronnie Anne Santiago, her older brother Bobby, and their mother Maria move in with their extended family called the Casagrandes consisting of the grandparents Hector and Rosa, aunt and uncle Frida and Carlos, their cousins Carlota, C.J., Carl, and Carlitos, and their pets Lalo and Sergio. Ronnie Anne meets new friends like Sid Chang, expresses more about her relatives, and explores the endless possibilities in Great Lakes City. Bobby helps Hector run the mercado (another word for bodega) as he discovers similarities with his family's quirky neighbors.

Lincoln has a passion for comic books (especially for his favorite superhero Ace Savvy) and is often shown reading them while wearing only his underwear. He breaks the fourth wall on a regular basis by speaking to the audience about the chaotic conditions and sibling relationships of his household when he always spend times with his sisters and always survives with them.
- Lori Loud (voiced by Catherine Taber) – The former 17-year-old (Seasons 1-4 (1997-2002); teenager), now 18-year-old (Season 5 (2002-present); young adult) eldest child of the Loud family and the only Loud child with a driver's license. Lori is depicted as a bossy, short-tempered, sarcastic, and cynical teenager who is condescending towards her younger siblings. Despite this, she cares deeply about her family. Lori is usually seen talking to her boyfriend Bobby on her smartphone and uses the word "literally" frequently. In some episodes, Lori is shown to have a flatulence problem that she refuses to admit by stating that it was either her shoes or the creaking floorboards making the noise.
- Leni Loud (voiced by Liliana Mumy) – The former 16-year-old (Seasons 1-4 (1997-2002)), now 17-year-old (Season 5 (2002-present)) second child of the Loud family who is almost always seen wearing sunglasses on top of her head. Leni is depicted as a beautiful, ditzy blonde who shows talents in fashion designing, lock-picking, and wood-carving on occasion. She has a fear of spiders that is referenced in multiple episodes, most notably "Along Came a Sister". As Lori's roommate, Leni would tend to borrow some of Lori's clothes without asking, which leads to them occasionally fighting over them. Along with Luna, she has the best relationship with Lincoln of his older sisters. In "Shop Girl", Leni gets a job at Reiningers after helping out it's different shoppers during a sale.
- Luna Loud (voiced by Nika Futterman) – The former 15-year-old (Seasons 1-4 (1997-2002)), now 16-year-old (Season 5 (2002-present)) third child of the Loud family. Luna has a habit of speaking in a mock British accent. She is a wild and upbeat musician who owns various instruments, with her signature one being a purple electric guitar. She very closely follows the words of her idol Mick Swagger and always encourages her family to "stay cool". In the episode "For Bros About to Rock", it is revealed that Luna has ruined all of her siblings' first concerts.
- Luan Loud (voiced by Cristina Pucelli) – The former 14-year-old (Seasons 1-4 (1997-2002)), now 15-year-old (Season 5 (2002-present)) fourth child and comedian of the Loud family and Luna's roommate. Most of her dialogue consists of bad puns, much to the annoyance of her siblings. She wears her hair in a large ponytail and has buck teeth with braces, giving her a squirrel-like appearance. Every April Fools' Day, Luan becomes a prank-obsessed maniac which leaves her family and Clyde in complete fear of the holiday as they try to avoid her pranks. In addition to comedian works and pranks, Luan is an expert clown, mime artist, juggler, and ventriloquist where she owns a ventriloquist dummy named Mr. Coconuts.
- Lynn Loud, Jr. (voiced by Jessica DiCicco) – The former 13-year-old (Seasons 1-4 (1997-2002)), now 14-year-old (Season 5 (2002-present)) fifth child and athlete of the Loud family who is named after her father. She tends to start competitions among her siblings and plays a large amount of sports like baseball, basketball, football, and soccer.
- Lucy Loud (voiced by Jessica DiCicco) – The former 8-year-old (Seasons 1-4 (1997-2002)), now 9-year-old (Season 5 (2002-present)) seventh child of the Loud family and Lynn's roommate. Lucy is a gothic girl with interests in poetry, séances, and gothic fiction as well as owning some pet bats. She has pale white skin and long black hair with bangs that cover her eyes. Lucy also has an uncanny ability to suddenly appear in places, which often frightens her siblings.
- Lana Loud (voiced by Grey Griffin) – The former 6-year-old (Seasons 1-4 (1997-2002)), now 7-year-old (Season 5 (2002-present)) eighth child of the Loud family and the twin older sister of Lola. Lana is a tomboy who loves to play in mud and get her hands dirty, which often annoys Lola. She is a skilled handyworker who loves animals (mostly frogs and reptiles). In "Ties That Bind", it is revealed that she was born two minutes before Lola.
- Lola Loud (voiced by Grey Griffin) – The former 6-year-old (Seasons 1-4 (1997-2002)), now 7-year-old (Season 5 (2002-present)) ninth child of the Loud family and the twin younger sister of Lana. Lola is a bratty "Princess" who is skilled at plotting and scheming to get her way. She becomes maniacal if her siblings anger her in any way. She is mostly seen wearing a pink dress that cover her legs and a tiara on her head. She is constantly entered in child beauty pageants and is the tattletale of the group. Notably, she is the only Loud child to call her father by the name of "Daddy".
- Lisa Loud (voiced by Lara Jill Miller) – The former 4-year-old (Seasons 1-4 (1997-2002)), now 5-year-old (Season 5 (2002-present)) tenth child of the Loud family. She is a child prodigy who has a PhD and yet is still in kindergarten. She enjoys solving complex equations and math problems and performing elaborate experiments where she would often using her siblings and Clyde as test subjects. She wears round glasses, speaks with a lateral lisp, and laughs maniacally when performing experiments.
- Lily Loud (voiced by Grey Griffin) – The former 1-year-old (Seasons 1-4 (1997-2002)), now 2-year-old (Season 5 (2002-present)) baby of the Loud family. She is mostly seen wearing only a diaper. Lincoln shares a special connection with Lily and babysits her on several occasions. She has a habit of losing her diaper causing her to go naked and also causing her fellow siblings to put her diaper back on. The only phrase Lily says aside from gibberish is "poo-poo", generally coupled with her diaper flying across the screen or having needing a change in her diaper.
- Lynn Loud, Sr. (voiced by Brian Stepanek) – The father of the Loud children. His whole face is unseen until "11 Louds a Leapin'". Lynn, Sr. often breaks up fights between his children before it goes too far and does all the cooking in the family as he dreams of being a chef. In "Along Came a Sister", it is revealed that he has a fear of spiders like Leni. In "Anti-Social", it is revealed that he has a band called the Clang with Kotaro.
- Rita Loud (voiced by Jill Talley) – The mother of the Loud children, the daughter of "Pop Pop", and the niece of Ruth. Her face is also unseen until "11 Louds a Leapin'". She is the only Loud whose name does not begin with "L". Rita is caring towards her children, but is not afraid to punish them if their fighting goes too far. Rita is shown to be more level-headed than Lynn Sr. In "A Novel Idea", Rita works as a dental assistant and is writing a novel that could lead to a different career path. As revealed in "Cover Girls" and "L is for Love", it is revealed that she met Lynn Sr. when she was working as a crossing guard.
The Casagrande family[]
- Ronalda "Ronnie" Anne Santiago (voiced by Breanna Yde in S1E15B-S3E21,[1] Izabella Alvarez in S4E1-present[2]) is the 11-year-old sister of Bobby. She's a tomboy who enjoys skateboarding, playing video games, and pranks. She wears a purple sweatshirt, jean shorts, a white tank top, purple shoes and pink socks. Ronnie Anne has a close friend named Lincoln, who is the only brother of Bobby's girlfriend Lori. A running gag is that one member of either her or Lincoln's family refers to one of them as the other's boyfriend/girlfriend which they instantly deny. It is implied multiple times throughout the series, though, that they harbor feelings for each other.
- Roberto Alejandro Martinez-Millan Luis "Bobby" Santiago Jr. (voiced by Carlos PenaVega[1]) is a 17-year-old boy who is the older brother of Ronnie Anne. He wears blue jeans, brown shoes, a black belt, a cream T-shirt and a green shirt over it. Bobby has a girlfriend named Lori, who lives with her 10 other siblings. Bobby and Lori managed to find a way to make their relationship work despite Bobby having to move away from the place they both lived in. He currently works in the Casagrande family bodega as cashier and stockboy. As seen in "City Slickers" and "The Spies Who Loved Me," Bobby developed a tendency to get trapped in the dairy freezer.
- Maria Casagrande-Santiago[3] (voiced by Sumalee Montano)[4] is Ronnie Anne and Bobby's mother, Carlos' sister, and Rosa and Hector's daughter. She works as a nurse at a local hospital. When the Santiago's move to Great Lakes City, Maria works at the local hospital as an emergency room nurse. Throughout the series, she is shown to have childish arguments with her brother Carlos.
- Dr. Arturo Santiago (voiced by Eugenio Derbez)[4] is Bobby and Ronnie Anne's father who works as a doctor at Physicians with Missions who have their headquarters in Great Lakes City. He is currently operating in Peru where he helped to build a hospital. Arturo's work is liked by Carlos Casagrande and Hector Casagrande develops a scowling look when around him implying that he was not pleased with Maria and Arturo's divorce.
In "Operation Dad," Arturo visits Great Lakes City for a conference causing Ronnie Anne to find a way to make him move in after roughing it for some time. After some attempts fail, Ronnie Anne was able to see him off. Upon looking at the scrapbook she left him, Arturo contacts his boss at Physician Without Missions to let him work at Great Lakes City's Physicians Without Missions HQ while another doctor covers for him.
- Rosa Casagrande (voiced by Sonia Manzano)[4] is Ronnie Anne and Bobby's grandmother, Maria and Carlos' mother, and Lupe and Lazaro's daughter. She is the matriarch of the Casagrande family and the building manager of their apartment building. She is a skilled cook and uses a variety of home remedies to heal people and ward off spirits.
- Hector Rodrigo Casagrande-Guiterrez (voiced by Ruben Garfias)[4] is Ronnie Anne and Bobby's grandfather and Maria and Carlos' father. He is the patriarch of the Casagrande family and the proprietor of the Casagrande Mercado on the ground floor of the family's apartment building. Hector is gossipy and knows how to play the guitar while also having his own band. In "Battle of the Grandpas", it is revealed that Hector used to be a bull rider in his youth.
- Carlos Casagrande (voiced by Carlos Alazraqui)[4] is Ronnie Anne and Bobby's uncle, Maria's brother, and Rosa and Hector's son. He is a father of four and works as a professor at a local university. Carlos reads many books and can dispense rather inane trivia. In "Going Overboard," it was revealed that he was a popular skater in college. He had to stop after marrying Frida.
- Frida Puga-Casagrande[3] (voiced by Roxana Ortega)[4] is Ronnie Anne and Bobby's aunt and Carlos' wife. She is an avid artist and photographer who gets emotional over a variety of mundane moments. In "Miss Step," it is revealed that Frida is an expert at Baile Folklorico. Her maiden name is named after staff member Miguel Puga.
- Carlota Casagrande (voiced by Alexa PenaVega)[4] is the eldest of Carlos and Frida's children, their only daughter, Rosa and Hector's granddaughter, and the cousin of Bobby and Ronnie Anne. She is an admirer of vintage fashion and has a following on social media.
- Carlos "CJ" Casagrande Jr. (voiced by Jared Kozak)[4] is the second eldest and the eldest male of Carlos and Frida's children, Rosa and Hector's grandson, and the cousin of Bobby and Ronnie Anne. He was born with Down syndrome and possesses a very sunny disposition. CJ loves to play pretend games and likes pirates. The episode "Short Cut" reveals that CJ is good at cutting hair.
- Carlino "Carl" Casagrande[5][4] (voiced by Alex Cazares)[4] is the second youngest of Carlos and Frida's children, Rosa and Hector's grandson, and the cousin of Bobby and Ronnie Anne. He has a selfish and macho personality and hatches a variety of get rich quick schemes, but is ultimately very childish. Carl likes to play with toys, especially trains. In addition, he also has a crush on Lori much to the dismay of Lori and Bobby. In "Slink or Swim," Carl was revealed to not be able to swim until Bobby taught him in exchange that Carl teaches him how to tie his shoes.
- Carlitos Casagrande (voiced by Roxana Ortega up to The Casagrandes ep. 6A,[6] Cristina Milizia from ep. 7 onward[7]) is the youngest of Carlos and Frida's children, Rosa and Hector's grandson and the cousin of Ronnie Anne. He has noticeably orange hair and a propensity to mimic those around him. He is just beginning to learn how to talk as seen in "Copy Can't."

The series was pitched to the network in 2013 as a two-minute short film entered in the annual Nickelodeon Animated Shorts Program. It entered production the following year.
The Casagrandes[]

On October 17, 2017, Cartoon Brew reported that the franchise creator Chris Savino was suspended from the studio due to allegations of sexual harassment and was suspended for a year by the The Animation Guild Team. The Loud House spinoff mostly took place right after The Loud House episode "The Loudest Mission: Relative Chaos". And ultimately The show's producers Karen Malach and Yvette E. Dibello produced various episodes of the tv show.
A spin-off, entitled The Casagrandes, was put into development by Nickelodeon in March 2018. It will feature Bobby and Ronnie Anne Santiago as well as their extended Casagrande family living in Great Lakes City. The series premiered on October 14, 2019. On May 7, 2019, it was revealed that Eugenio Derbez, Ken Jeong, and Melissa Joan Hart had joined the cast as Bobby and Ronnie Anne's father Dr. Arturo Santiago and new neighbors Sid, Adelaide, Stanley and Rebecca Chang, respectively.
The Really Loud House[]

On September 5th, 2022, Paramount+ announced a live-action television series sequel to A Loud House Christmas tv film where it also started right after the events from the tv film itself, some of the cast members from A Loud House Christmas will reprise their roles.

The series has spawned a graphic novel series by publisher Papercutz. The graphic novels dive into the world of the show and the characters within. They are usually anthology comics by either crew members or other incoming artists, however others have themes, and still others have overarching storylines. The first graphic novel, There Will Be Chaos, was released on May 9, 2017. There are currently two series, a running series and a special series focusing on the seasons. The running series currently has eleven volumes as of January 2021.

On March 28, 2017, Paramount Pictures' president Marc Evans announced a film based on the series originally set for release on February 7, 2020 in cinemas. However, in January 2019, Paramount removed the film from their schedule. On February 5, 2019, it was announced that the film would instead be produced for release on the streaming service Netflix. On April 30, 2019, it was announced the movie will be released sometime in 2021. On June 20, 2019, Kevin Sullivan stated he completed a draft of the film. On January 12, 2021, it was reconfirmed that the film would release on Netflix within the year, with the film's plot focusing on the Loud family traveling to Scotland.
The Casagrandes Movie was announced by Nickelodeon on April 4, 2023. At the moment, very little is known about the film, other than that Tony Gama-Lobo and Rebecca May (who are also writing A Really Haunted Loud House) are attached to the project.

Christmas TV Film Special[]

On February 19, 2020, Nickelodeon announced that a live-action film based on the series titled, The Loud House: A Very Loud Christmas, will premiere in late 2020. The film will depict Lincoln and Clyde working to preserve the Christmas traditions when the Loud sisters plan to have their Christmas plans elsewhere.
Halloween TV Film Special[]

On Autumn 2023, Nickelodeon announced that a Halloween-styled live-action television film based on A Really Haunted Loud House live-action series. The film itself was originally planned to premiere on October 6, 2023 on Nickelodeon and Paramount+, but was later rescheduled to September 28, 2023
The Loud House Movie Sequel[]

In April 2024, Nickelodeon announced that a sequel to the film titled No Time to Spy: A Loud House Movie, was scheduled to premiere in the summer of 2024 on both Nickelodeon and Paramount+ in the USA and internationally.
Video games[]
The Loud House: Outta Control was released on Apple Arcade on February 14, 2020. In the game, the siblings try to get through to their goals without running into each other.[8]
Lincoln, Lucy, and Clyde appear as playable characters in the 2020 racing video game Nickelodeon Kart Racers 2: Grand Prix.[9] Lincoln and Lucy will also be playable in the upcoming 2021 fighting video game Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl.[10]
